Long-distance move from Gainesville, GA to Yorkville, IL

HORRIBLE DELIVERY

Moved items from GA to IL, promised delivery time frame was 4 days late, the driver was the only person that came to unload the items. One of the items was a sleeper sofa. The driver could not pick it up himself, so my husband had to help him get it off the truck. I had to pay others to move the couch for the garage to our basement. One item was damaged and two boxes and an end table were lost.

Long-distance move from Denver, CO to Dallas, TX

Price was okay, but service was exceptional.

I choose to use Prime for my move that I setup for my mother. She is really picky, sorry mother.. but they really helped put her at ease for her move from Littleton, CO to Dallas, TX. I did a couple other estimates online and over the phone and this is the only company that offered to see her stuff. They also weren't pushy. I got another estimate for $1000 less but it was obvious what these other companies were trying to do to my mother! It would seem the other companies were unwilling to see the move so they could demand my mother pay more money or something. I've done a move like that before when I moved. Don't fall for that! Prime was willing to see the move before we set it up. They gave me the correct price. Not sure if I saved money, but the service was amazing.

Ryan M. was my rep at Prime and he was fantastic. He spent hours customizing the service for Mom. I even called him the night before the move at 10pm and he answered my question about tipping! I've never worked with someone so dedicated, maybe he was the owner? On move day, the 4 guys arrived to pack and load up. They were clean, spoke English, and took their time. My mom was hovering over them the whole time but they weren't phased by it. She was so happy with them which if I'm honest, is a pretty hard thing to do. I paid extra to have them pack the TV, glass tables, and other stuff but we packed our boxes. I was over on the box count but they didn't charge me extra. They said that Ryan over estimated the space so I was good.

I had our delivery a couple days ago and nothing was missing. They put her bed together and left, it was uneventful and I'm fine with that. Thank you Ryan and Prime Relo!

Long-distance move from Grass Valley, CA to Corbett, OR

Never use these movers. liars, cheats and theives

Prime relocation are thieves and liars. My family and I were moving form California to Oregon and getting quotes from multiple companies. We got a call from a man named Conner saying that we were in luck and that someone had canceled there moving truck from California to Oregon and he could give us a big discount on our move to use that truck. That was a complete lie. When it came time for moving day three guys show up in a Enterprise rental truck and tryed too double the price on us. I called prime relocation to cancel the move and they said I would not get my $1500 deposit back. We could barely afford to move but we had to so we paid them the double price. They loaded the truck and left, after dumping their garbage in our yard. We though at that point they would drive the truck to our new house in Oregon but we were wrong. They took our stuff to a warehouse and unloaded it there, were it sat for weeks. Then they put it on a big rig truck and drove it to Oregon. After that they called and said the big rig could not make it to our house and we would have to pay for a shuttle service to take our stuff from the big rig to our house costing an additional $1900. I refused because there is plenty of room for a big rig to get to our house they said if I don't pay I could come get it myself, so like an idiot I paid. So then three different guys showed up with our stuff and made me pay the rest of the money in cash and sign the inventory before they would unload the truck. Once they unloaded the truck in my front yard making me and my wife bring it inside ourselves they left quickly and that's when I realized that my brand new $1200 generator was missing. They had stolen the most valuable piece of equipment that I owned, not only that but they charged me an extra $100 for the generator because it was "bulky". Everyone that I talk to along this arduous process had no integrity at all. They were all happy to look me in the face and screw me over with a smile on their faces. Not a single person apologized or acted like they gave a sh*t at all. I will be suing Prime Relocation and the brokers for false and misleading business practices and theft. I have already reported them to the better business bureau. Every person in this company should rot in hell.

Long-distance move from San Francisco, CA to Denison, TX

Ridiculously Bad Customer Service & Pick Up.

The reason I chose this company is all the 4 and 5 star reviews they receive, but this move was such a hassle and I could not believe how unresponsive the company was to my move (esp. during a pandemic). During the moving day I got 1 phone call from the company to update me on my pick up and I spent my day (a Saturday) searching for someone to answer their phone. Nothing. After a 9-11 AM appt. time, they arrived at 8:45 PM and finished packing at 1:30 AM. At 10:00 the movers were adjusting my bill and asking for thousands of more dollars (literally) for my move. I realize these adjustments are allowable, but at 10:00 on a Sat night there is no way to talk to anyone in the office to verify or consult. Yes, ridiculous.

My rep Niko Callis never reached out before, during or after the move, and what's worse, wouldn't return my calls. He said my property would not be transferred from one truck to another after pick up, and he didn't tell the truth. My stuff arrived on a completely different truck. After telling him of the pick up debacle, he asked to put everything in an email but then never responded. Really don't know how he could have been worse. Get another job that doesn't require service.

After asking customer service for a discounted rate, they said they would consider it when the movers arrived for delivery. Oh, really? At 8:45 at night again? Unacceptable. After having to seemingly fight to talk to someone in a supervisory position, M. Lavanda forgave the final payment due upon delivery. I will say that Mr. Lavanda was very apologetic and empathic (unlike anyone else I had dealt with) and I appreciate his professionalism.

The movers were fine. One piece of furniture had damage upon arrival.

I will also say, after looking at the cost of the moves of some of these other reviews, I feel completely ripped off. I had a studio apt and my revised, estimated charge was $5343 from San Francisco to Dallas. I have zero faith that the fee was fairly and appropriately calculated. I would never, ever recommend this company.

Do Not Hire.

I've been waiting OVER A MONTH for my furniture and household goods to be delivered, the contract is in breach, and the company has NO ETA on delivery for me. They do not answer any of my calls or emails, they screen out my phone number. I have to call with other phone numbers in order to get them to pick up. I have no idea if I will ever see my belongings again. I have paid 90% of the total cost of the move.

Estimate given was based on very detailed description of my furniture and number of boxes I told them I'd have was correct. It was based on cubic feet of space, not weight. On day of pickup, the mover told me my move was approximately 50% bigger than the estimate; because I needed to move out of my apartment that day, my hands were tied. They then proceeded to repack my belongings into bigger boxes (couch cushions and small boxes into wardrobe boxes, small furniture into cardboard boxes) and refused to break down small furniture such as bookcases in order to increase cubic sq footage of the move and thus increase price. I was not able to see how the truck was packed due to them using mattress & box spring to obscure the full truck. I had done calculation of my boxes and furniture and it was nowhere near as large as they quoted me on day of the move. Fraud.

Do not trust ratings on Angie's List, Better Business Bureau, Google, this site, or other moving sites. All of the good reviews are fake--look at close together dates of good reviews posted, all within the last few months (moving season). This company's practices are fraudulent and negligent. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY.

Long-distance move from American Canyon, CA to Litchfield, ME

Terrible scam company.

Where to begin? First Do NOT believe any positive reviews like we did. There is no way this company ever performs to satisfaction. We were told so many lies by this company it is criminal really. Told our shipment was large and would take up an entire semi that would fit nothing else. Long story short: lied about truck ( used 2 instead of 1), came a day late (June 30)and didn’t finish til 2am. Asked for more money at 2am. No one had masks on the entire time. Promised delivery on Aug 7-8. Lied repeatedly about whereabouts while it sat in warehouse in Sacramento for 2 weeks! Supposedly left Sunday July 13 but as of yesterday told will make repeated stops ( how was there suddenly room when told would go directly to our new address because so large and no room?) and still no furniture or idea when we will get it! Asked to speak with company CEO or whoever is in charge of this “business” -promised a call from them on Tuesday or Wednesday this week. Crickets. It’s been now 17 days and we are incurring many expenses due to not having our things in our new house. Niko, Felix, Solomon all talk the talk. I still don’t know for sure where our things are! Will update when and if we finally get our shipment and the condition of the items. Worst worst experience with a company in my ENTIRE life!

Worst moving company ever!

If I could give this company no stars at all I would. This move was the worst possible! Not only did my items show up a week and half later than expected, half of my items are damaged and broken and I’m still missing boxes that I don’t even know if I will ever see again. Trying to get ahold of anyone with the company is a joke,(Felix) they give you the run around and up charge you an extra 1800$. I planned on moving all my stuff myself with a uhaul to keep from damaged and missing items and when I was told by my mom they hired a moving company I was skeptical. Go with your first instinct and do it yourself! You’ll save 8000$ and half of your items won’t be damaged. Such a disappointment! I have no words to express my anger.

Long-distance move from San Jose, CA to Albuquerque, NM

Scam! Beware!

There’s no other way to describe their business other than a scam. Lied numerous times (about not hiring 3rd party, about how many movers would show up, about using their own trucks). We sent them a detailed itemized list of everything in our house. The movers show up in a rental truck, walk through the house and then tried to more than double the price saying our items will max out their truck. We explained we had an itemized list but they told us to either pay the new price or they’d leave. We tried emailing and calling both the sales person we spoke with and their general numbers on their site numerous times. No answer from anyone. So the movers left. AFTER they leave we get a vague email saying the would come back but not move all our stuff. Next day I tried calling customer service to get my deposit back but “their system was done so they couldn’t look anything up or file a complaint.” Apparently they claim their system is down until “sometime next week.” Then they email me threatening legal action if I try to pursue a refund. I’m now out the refund, had to reschedule cleaners, am still trying to find a new mover who can move us ASAP, am likely going to have to extend my rental lease, and make additional arrangements to delay the move. They clearly have a repeated pattern of selling you with a quote then bullying you into paying more than the actual cubic feet used and threaten you if you don’t comply. Stay away!

When goods were finally delivered, multiple items were MISSING, multiple items were BROKEN. A four bedroom house they sent ONE MOVER to move everything. He wrecked multiple pieces of furniture and ruined 100+ year old plaster walls. It was a complete disaster and company has not returned any phone calls or communication re: missing items. Mover was not an employee of company, he was a sub-contractor.

Long-distance move from Los Gatos, CA to Phoenix, AZ

Unbelievably horrible experience!

Prime Relocation Services picked up my household goods in California and had some sort of accident on the way to Arizona. Of course, no one at Prime will tell me what happened. Delivery driver called and told me he would deliver the next day, he called the next day and said he had a mechanical problem. Then nothing from Prime for 6 days. 6 days later, they showed up in Arizona, made me pay the balance and then brought in dirt covered rubble that had been my household goods. Most items did not make it to my house, suspiciously the most expensive items. All told, roughly $13k in household goods were destroyed or lost. I just got the settlement amount from their 3rd party insurer,CSI, and it was for $2.40. All along the way, Felix Morgan lied to me 6 times regarding the status of my goods, their whereabouts and status. 6 times. Niko Callis lied to me repeatedly and threatened me that the company would only work with me on the settlement if I removed poor reviews and my complaint with the BBB. Well, at least he was honest that time.

Horrible Experience

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! This is a scam company. They will quote you a low price but on the day of your pickup they will try an increase your price double or more. This happened to us. We refused to pay. We felt like we were being extorted. We called our initial contact who must have been a broker for them and he finally was able to get them to honor our original price. This was just the beginning of our horrible experience. Their customer service is horrible to deal with. They ignore your phone calls and when they do answer they are rude and unprofessional. They would lie to us every time we called to check on the status of our delivery. We had requested a Dec 15th delivery date and we finally got our stuff delivered on Dec. 29th. By law they have 21 days of your requested delivery date to deliver to you and they push this date to the limit. Why I don't know. We recei ed out items minus a king size mattress and 2 boxes of kitchen items. They also caused damage to some of our furniture (scratches and chips). When you try and complain they act like this is normal business and give you a link to make a claim. I do not expect to ever see my stuff again nor do I expect to be compensated.

HORRIBLE LIES LIES LIES NEARLY 2 Months still have our stuff

DO Not USE this company, they picked up my 80 year old mothers things on the 27th of Dec 2020 - today she does not have her things they won't even respond anymore, on Jan 16 2021 they were ordered to stop operations - and are still operating using rental trucks. DO NOT USE and DO not book through Cross Country Moving Group they took our money but have done nothing to help. It is February 12,2021 and my poor mother just cries and cries as all of her precious items, family picture things that have been in the family over a 100 years are missing, they promised on Feb 3rd they would be here in 3 to 7 days no apologies just hang up on you pretend they can't here you, interrupts you then pretends you are interrupting them, DEMANDS MORE AND MORE MONEY, try's to up charge you at every turn, wants cash, says their CC Machine in broken, took her things from Idaho to California supposedly (they were supposed to go straight to South Carolina) and will not tell us where they are, finally delivered a portion but still missing so much. SAVE YOURSELF a lot or grief and stress stay away from this company, I do not know if my poor mother will ever see her things again. If I could rate them fairly it would be a negative number.

Long-distance move from Reno, NV to Nashville, TN

Absolutely Worst Moving Company

I recently moved from Nevada to TN in December2021. Like many others, I was drawn in by the reduced price by the sales representative, and decided to go with their services. It was absolutely the worst mistake I ever made. I paid almost double what I intended to pay, my belongings took a month to arrive and were damaged or broken beyond repair. Overall, communication between sales, logistics, and contract movers is poor with this company. Not at any point during the process did I feel they were all on they same page. As a result, customers bare the burden of their lack of communication. I was told at time of reservation that I only would need to pay 1/4 of total at booking to reserve truck, another 1/2 at initial pick up and the rest of amount was to be paid at delivery. When, they arrive for pickup they asked for 65% of remaining balance and not 50% as was previously noted. Then, 7 days later, I am repeatedly hound by their customer service representative for additional payment, threatening that if I don't pay and additional amount, then my items won't get scheduled for delivery. I ended up paying this deposit which brought my total up to 90% was paid after initial pick up. Once, they collected our payment we were left in dark about delivery or a possible delivery date. I had to do all the leg work myself in finding out where our belongings were or when we might expect them. Our belongings were picked up on Dec 10th and not delivered till Jan 20th! Well past their promise date of 14 days. When my belongings finally arrived, I received boxes that were clearly labeled kitchen or breakable, and were tipped upside down resulting in broken dishes. My wood dining room chairs have deep scratches in the seats that were not their prior. One of my wooden bookshelves was also completely broken and is no longer usable, the list goes on and on. I suggest avoiding this company all together and paying more for better service that treats your belongings with better care. I ended spending a considerable amount of moving for damaged goods and belongings that will need to be replaced or repaired. As a result, totally not worth going through this company. I recommend avoiding this company at all cost and encourage future customers to look at the BBB website. They have several complaints and counting. So, it's not just me, it's a widespread problem!!

Long-distance move from Plano, IL to Reston, VA

STAY AWAY!

After consulting with Scott Simpson, a representative from Prime Relocation Services, I was initially quoted $2699.80 for an interstate move from Chicago, IL to Northern Virginia. I was separating from the military and had military movers moving my home goods from Texas (Base) to Chicago (Home). The initial charge from the military movers totaled at about $4200, for a total of 650 cubic ft (3 bed home).

Initially I was waiting for my stuff home goods to arrive in Chicago so I gave Scott an estimate of 500 cubic ft. I was wrong on the estimate which resulted in an increase in our negotiated price of $2699.80 to $4,100. I was fine with the upcharge due to incorrect cubic ft that I had estimated prior to receiving my home goods.

After receiving my home goods from the military movers, I scheduled a pick up with Scott from Prime Relocation to pick up my items and take them to Virginia. The price had been negotiated and the contract signed, however the day of the move I had unprofessional and rude movers arrive and try to force me into paying an additional $3,000 just for pick up. There justification was that even though I had 650 cubic ft, I had two big couches and they needed to charge for bulk items!? I denied the service and called Scott (the rep). He said he was sorry and will get another set of movers. Two days later, the next set of movers arrived and loaded my belongings. After loading they told me they had to charge me a total of $4200 extra for picking up and delivering my goods to Virginia. It was Friday evening around 8pm, and I tried calling Scott and received no answer. After 4 voice mails, I decided to allow the movers to take the items and I will negotiate price with Scott.

After 8 phone calls, I have not received a call back from Prime Relocation! I ended up paying $8200 instead of the negotiated price of $4100. They held my belongings hostage, and said I needed to pay the price. My kids had school and I had work so I decided to pay for my belongings. This is a terrible company, my items are missing and after dirty business I paid double the price. Scott told me that there were multiple companies performing these acts, and it was a scam, only for him to do it to a separating military member. The ratings seemed fine on DOT's website and BBB, but this is a scam. Please stay away from this terrible company. I am talking to my lawyer about a possible lawsuit due to this unprofessional and dirty business transaction.

Review of Prime Relocation Services, Inc.

Run, do not walk, away from any thoughts of entrusting your precious household goods to this company. Working with them was the absolute worst experience of our lives… the very worst of 7 corporate relocations we’ve lived through. Where do I start… Richard is a great salesman; he’ll make you think he’s your best friend when he’s quoting you a rate based on weight. Good luck getting him to take your call, no less return it, after he’s collected your $2500 down payment. Next comes the bait & switch after every things packed and ready to load onto the van in your front driveway. That’s when the lead driver Kosta hits you with a new estimate based on “cube” or truck volume. That’s when our price went up $7,000!!! You either pay it, or they drive away leaving all your stuff sitting in the driveway! And you’re writing a check for 90% of the total price before they load and drive away. Now they have all your stuff and 90% of your money. That’s when you realize you might be getting screwed on this deal. Next comes trying to get your household goods delivered. You’re calling the head of operations Shai. Again, good luck getting a call returned, no less getting a straight, honest answer. After we signed a contract on had a closing date set for our new house, I called Shai on October 12 to request delivery of our goods on October 23. Oct 23 came and went. I called Michelle in Customer Service on Oct 30 and was told we’re next customer on the priority list. We called every two days for the next month and continued to get a line of double talk. On November 20, we called Michelle, who put us on hold. 20 minutes into the hold, we called her from a different phone number, and she picked up! So much for customer service. The only person who every told us the truth at this company was the lead driver Kosta (yes, the same one who performed the $7,000 bait & switch when his crew picked us up). Finally, our delivery occurred on December 5th, well past the 30 days they claimed they had per standard contract to deliver to us. But violating the terms of the contract is nothing new for Prime Relocation Services, Inc. We paid extra to have our piano crated. They packaged it in cardboard. The van that showed up with our stuff in it was a secondhand retread that had been spray painted white. Of course, several items were broken. The piano was missing accessories. At the end of the process, they offered us $150 for all the damaged and missing items. We refused the paltry settlement offer and requested to go to binding arbitration, which was our right per the standard contract. Again, Shai refused to take our calls and of course never returned our calls. And that’s where it stands today. So, here’s our review. Good luck if you contract with this company, you may never see your precious household goods again ☹☹☹
